I drove past this yesterday on my way home and a oil change.

A CCDW holder exchanged gunfire with the gunman.

I saw a post on social media about it and a reply said

“The general rule is get down, get safe, get out. Unless directly threatened by an assailant, you should not go looking to be a hero. Your weapon is for personal protection and you are liable for every single action you take with it.”

    Makes me truly sad.
Just wish the CCW’s aim had been true; save us $30K per year to incarcerate that lunatic.

agree with crank to a point but also feel that if you are armed and can stop an active shooter you have to. I would like to think I would have the nerve to stop the threat, I have never been in the situation so I wont go into what I would or would not do.

I have never shot a human in the US, and would likely not engage unless it was clearly going to be a good shoot. Anyone that carries must really be careful when considering a defensive gun use.

Given my history, those that know me can attest, I would not hesitate to stop an active shooter if I encounter one.

Heard today that someone claims to have heard the gunman say "Whites dont kill whites". Now Mayor is pushing for better hate laws and higher penalties for crimes where death is involved for the whole state. Um..what about the laws already on the books? This fires me up bad. Politicians act like there are no current laws and we need more. Glad I dont live in louisville for sure.

He has a challenger in this election that has exposed his BS “touchy-feely” policies for addressing crime, and instead of learning the lessons, he has doubled down on his community outreach programs and symbolism over substance in fighting the root cause of Louisville’s greatest threats to the safety of the public at large. Another problem is the failure to aggressively pursue the Explorer child abuse case rather than deflecting it through IA and delaying the public notification. The puppet “chief” building a case for plausible deniability for the mayor.
Straight out of Hitlery’s party playbook.
Yarmuth is another useless idiot in this “Metro” mindset in Jefferson Co.
Saw the impending fiasco of this “Brave New World” and stood accused of not sharing their “vision”.
They were correct and I retired before the “cleansing” of Depts that drove most of the dissenting independent thinkers to leave for other cities/counties or retire.
Likewise, I watched good friends try to stick it out to get their years in for full benefits, and the strain on them was certainly not worth the effort.
I hope the public wakes up in this election.

Louisville and Jefferson Co. learned nothing from this administration.
