Hello I am a new transplant to North KY and I love it here! I just havent been to a range since March and need to find a good outdoor range nearby. I am hoping to find one long enough to justify building or buying a bolt action rifle. Hope to learn a few things here as well.

Welcome. Nothing really around here for long range stuff. I have a 100 yards, 300 yards and a half mile setup. Unless you have property or have a friend with some you are going to have to travel.

I'm willing to travel an hour or two, I'm just not sure what is available.

You might look into Southern Ohio ranges.

Likewise, there are organized matches at Camp Atturberry (sp) near Indianapolis. That might be a haul for you, though.

Small town city halls can be a good way to find a local range. They should mostly be raised in that area and they would know if anybody does.
Like was already mentioned,... private ranges are your best bet. You'll meet locals anyway so try to feel them out about guns in general. Of course you want to find the guys who live out of town, the farther the more likely.

Welcome to the site and go luck with getting a place to shoot.

What part of northern KY are you from? It stretches across the whole top of the state. :)
