I was lucky enough to snag an unfired with tags standard Beretta 92G today. I've owned 92FS and carried M9 on the job before. I sort of liked the Beretta series pistols but have always had a mental issue with frame mounted safeties. 92G seems to solve the issue for me. I hate to shoot it and now feel obligated to find another one, but used. One to shoot and one to save. Does anyone else do that?

Also if anyone has a 92G, please share opinions.

Saving a gun just so the next owner can enjoy it makes no sense to me. Sort of like not sleeping with your girlfriend to keep her fresh for her next boyfriend.:llama:
Let the next owner worry about restoring it and shoot the daylights out of it.

Good advice, I can't afford two of them anyways.

image.jpeg Wilson Combat is now building the G-Series, I believe. Both Full size and Compact. This was at the NRA Convention in Lou.

I used to own an M9 myself, mostly for nostalgic reasons because I carried one in the Marines. I rarely fired it though and eventually traded it for an XFS. I like Beretta pistols although it seems like I rarely hear about many that own them. I was the only one in my CCDW class with a Beretta (PX4 Storm .45). The rest were mostly Glocks and S&Ws.

Mainly because Beretta carriers are "Super Secret Stealth Mode" kind of people.:hehe:
Seriously, I carried a 92 FSC and beat everyone else in my Dept. consistently. On my second bbl and locking block and countless recoil springs.
Hope to have it refurbished by Wilson Combat to hand down to a grandchild someday.

I've owned and carried M9/FS. I never like the slide mounted safety so I found my way to the 92g.

Update. I had a 92FS that I purchased in the early 90's. Regrettably, I got a hair up my ass and sold it a few years ago which led me to the recent purchase of the 92G. The guy I sold my 92FS to offered to sell it back to me a couple weeks ago and I jumped at the chance to get it back. This led me to sell the 92G back to the guy that I purchased it from, I still never fired it so it was still new. I liked my old style 92FS better anyways which was Italian made, had all steel parts, M9 style sights and frame, etc.. I just installed a Beretta factory D spring and Beretta factory G conversion safety kit. Finally, my dream pistol! I'll ask Santa for a pair of Wilson thin grips later in the year. I wouldn't mind to find a compact model like GRD has.

I just picked a really nice Beretta 96 at my LGS, nice looking gun for $280. The owner said he can't move 40's. Also got a like new XD40 for 225. After shooting mostly plastic guns for 20+ years, that Beretta shoots like butter, it is sweet.

Holy Smokes! Where is your local shop?!?
    Great value for your money!
Since this thread has been resurrected, where can I get the internals for a new slide I acquired?
